Working out, like a boss!

Over the past few year since I have joined the workforce, I have joined a couple of gyms to fight the bulge. Its not easy especially when we are stuck in an 9 to 5 office job that doesn't require to move a lot in the office. Its even more difficult to try and look like one of the 299 extras in the movie 300.

But right now I am going to this new gym in Subang Avenue (yes, the 1 beside Carrefour Subang) called Body Express. The location is pretty convenient for me as its right between my work place and home.

After being taken around the gym, I have to say the gym goers here all kinda know each other. This is something I like, where there is a community feeling in the gym, rather than the 'everybody minds their own business' type of gym. The trainers are also very friendly and they dont try to hard sell you some PT (personal training sessions). So thats a plus point for me.

The place is pretty well equipped with all your usual machines and free weights but with a few extras. They have some Kettlebells (which I have been trying to buy on the cheap in Malaysia, but very unsuccessful), horizontal bars (for chin ups, pull ups, knee to elbows and etc) and gymnastic rings as well. These extras are the very few items that I wanna buy if ever I plan to build my own home gym.

That being said, I have tried out a few of their classes and they are well, breath taking (literally)!
More about it soon as I hit the gym more often. Main aim is now to register for KL Towerthon this year and I hope this place can give me the extra help I need!

Motivational speech from Movies: Rocky Balboa

I was just surfing about and I came across this clip from Rocky Balboa. Totally forgot about it, but watching this clip without the whole movie, it really makes sense and I feel it is too wonderful for me not to share it. The clip as well as the speech is included for your reference. Pretty useful to share this with friends or family that are feeling down.

=)

Rocky Balboa: I'd hold you up to say to your mother, "this kid's gonna be the best kid in the world. This kid's gonna be somebody better than anybody I ever knew."

And you grew up good and wonderful. It was great just watching you, every day was like a privilige. Then the time come for you to be your own man and take on the world, and you did. But somewhere along the line, you changed. You stopped being you. You let people stick a finger in your face and tell you you're no good.

And when things got hard, you started looking for something to blame, like a big shadow.

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.

You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward.

That's how winning is done! Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what you're worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody!

Cowards do that and that ain't you! You're better than that! I'm always gonna love you no matter what. No matter what happens. You're my son and you're my blood. You're the best thing in my life. But until you start believing in yourself, ya ain't gonna have a life.

Boodyboy, out!
