Boody's Travelogue- Gem Island: A damned good holiday

Hi all dudes and dudettes,

I hope you guys had a great weekend, not bogged down by work and chores. Well, here's the time for me to gloat a little. I had an absolutely fantastically great holiday. One which i've not had for a long time.

Destination: Gem Island (where?!?! just beside Pulau Kapas in Terengganu)

Travel Date: 18/7/08 - 21/7/08 (4 days 3 nights)

On Friday morning, i left for KL sentral early in the morning. Reached sentral at about 7.15am. We wanted to check in our bags thru the KLIA express check in service but we were told we can only check in the luggages 2 hours prior to the flight. Oh well, since we didn't carry many stuff, it was OK to hand carry them. And the good thing was that since the flight we were on is a MAS flight, i checked in from my home before coming to Sentral. I had printed out our boarding pass. So all we had to do at sentral was to buy the KLIA Express tickets and off we went towards KLIA.

The train to KLIA, i have to say, is the best train I've sat in Malaysia. It's a pity that this isn't the case on any other trains that we have in Malaysia. We reached KLIA in 28 minutes flat (yes, i also timed the journey to see if what they boast about is true). We headed to the departure hall and we eagerly awaited for our flight to Kuala Terengganu.

(All the pictures i upload here have not been edited yet). I'll upload the edited ones as soon as i possibly can on my flickr). We would like to thank MAS for also having the free airfares promotion, or else this trip might not have been possible. The flight took about 50 minutes on a Boeing 737-400 plane.

We reached at about 10 in the morning and since our speedboat service was at 3pm, we had some time to kill. So we headed over to Kuala Terengganu (KT) town and went to their Pasar Payang, which is famous for the silk and batik shops as well as the local handicraft stalls. We walked around, careful not to buy too much stuff as we had to carry our bags along. Then we went looking around for a place to have breakfast. Well, i forgot that inTerengganu, their weekends are on Friday and Saturday, so most of the shops were not open. So we had some trouble hunting for a retaurant that was open. After walking for about 15 minutes in the humid weather (with our bags), we finally found a Indian shop that was open. That place sold one of the best roti canais i've ever had in my life!!! so good, i had 3 pieces of "roti" for breakfast. It was really crispy on the outside, so crispy, that when i tried to tear it apart... (damn, its so good, words cant describe it).

After our brunch, we managed to get a cab to send us to Marang jetty, where we waited for our boat service. The boat ride to Gem island is only 10 minutes, however, the sea that day was choppy. So choppy that i could feel the roti canai up my throat at some times. Thank goodness we reached safely, as the ride was like a roller coaster in the sea.

We had our welcome drink and soon we were shown our room. Villa no. 11. All the villas here are named after precious and semi precious stones. our was called Bloodstone. Well anyways, all iw ant to say is the room is nicely decorated. From our balcony we can see fishes swimming below us. Cool!!

We hit the beach as there isn't electricity from 3-5pm daily. The sea here is very clean. No rubbish at all. however, there were broken corals on the beach, unfortunately. The clear blue seas was good therapy for me. We had dinner at 7.30pm. the good thing about this place compared to most East coast island resorts is that the food here isn't served buffet style. Here we get set meals. So there isn't a need to fight for food and we can sit down and have a proper dinner. The food served there was pretty good, just like most of the reviews i've read.

After a nice dinner, we walked out of the restaurant only to be greeted by the nicest night view i have ever seen.

Yeah the picture is very dark (the top part is framed by trees. the background is Kapas Island), but it was the full moon that night. The whole island was illuminated by the moonlight and we can see its reflection off the sea!! Damned beautiful, if i must say... Well, if you all must know, i have timed this retreat as such as to clash with the full moon (with a quick reference to the chinese calendar, of course, hehehe). I had a feeling if i was lucky enough to see the full moon on a clear night, i'd be certain to have a damned good view.

And the next 2 days was spent beingin the sea; snorkelling (attempting to snorkel for me ;-p), kayaking, lounging around and curling up in bed. Oh yeah, ate like a "pandi" (pig in tamil) as well, hehehe... Except for a little incident to my right ring finger (which didnt allow me to enjoy the seawater as much since the incident), the holiday was of pure relaxation for me. Oh did i mention that looking at cute baby turtles swimming is also a good way to release oneself from all concerns of the mind. Seeing them swimming and "flying" thru the water was very peaceful.

On our 4th day, we checked out of the resort very reluctantly. With the amount of fun and relaxation we had here, its not impossible to see why some of the guests here have stayed for 2-3 weeks.

We arrived back at the marang jetty at about 10 am. We stopped at a place to see how batik was made. Quite interesting, but the place was too "touristy" for me. Then we stopped at the Pasar Payang again, to buy some souvenirs. This time all the shops were opened as it's the weekday. We spent about 40 minutes there before heading towards the airport. By the time we reached KL Sentral, it was already 4.30pm. We were tired but we said our goodbyes, with a tinge of sadness that our holiday getaway has officially ended.

Well, this has been another chapter in Boody's travelogue.

Our PM's reply on the Roadblocks and my opinion

This is taken from the Star website and my comments are in red.

Roadblocks needed to keep order, says Pak Lah

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has defended the police for setting up roadblocks around the city in anticipation of a public demonstration, causing massive traffic jams.

The police, meanwhile, said the roadblocks would continue as they have been “successful”.

Look, he didn't even apologise for the inconvenience caused. He's getting so defensive. At least Syed Hamid Alba was apologetic yesterday when he made his speech. Doesn't the PM know we are his bosses? Even if its for your own bosses' good, you would still be expected to apologise and pretend to understand our plight.

The Prime Minister blamed the situation on those who planned to hold demonstrations and said the police were only doing their job of maintaining order and public safety.

I'm sorry?!?! When i was stuck in the jam for 2.5 hours, all i could see was disorder and chaos on the roads. Oh also the disbelief and the grief of all drivers in the jam with me yesterday. In fact, i dont think i would have felt safe yesterday. For all you know some guy who's been under lots of heavy pressure would have just blown and ran amok, destroying people's cars.

“The police are trying to reduce hindrances and traffic jams (that would be caused if the demonstration go on) too,” he said, adding that businesses and shops expected the police to ensure disturbances do not occur.

“But at the same time the demonstrators say police have no business disturbing them. The police have a responsibility in ensuring there is no trouble,” he said.

Well first of all, to reduce traffic jams and hindrances, remove the freaking roadblocks!! That is the key hindrance we faced yesterday. If the demonstration would have gone on, i bet the only placed that would be jammed is the road leading towards the Parliament only, not the whole of Klang Valley, certainly not in Klang, Kepong, Kajang or wherever there is 30km away from the damned Parliament building!!! The only danger to public disorder was from you lah... And since ISA is used against those who cause public disorder, Hmm... muahahah!!! (You better hope i'm not the PM next time)

Abdullah reminded the demonstrators that they could hold their rallies at stadiums where “they can scream at the top of their voice and “not at these places (in the streets) because people have the right to go about their business in peace”.

Dude, i would have been left in peace if you had let the "alleged" gathering take place, cause nowhere else around klang valley or any major highways would have been jammed for that matter.

The rally that was anticipated to take place at Parliament House by Pakatan Rakyat supporters did not materialise yesterday.

Ppl already denied of having planned it. So if the Opposition deny we cannot believe them, but if our DPM or AG deny accusation we can believe them be cause they are more honest than the Opposition?

Police said they would continue to set up roadblocks at several major roads if needed.

“We have no choice as our main concern is to maintain law and order,” said City police chief Datuk Muhammad Sabtu Osman.

Can you show me where was the order in the chaos on the Highways, Mr. Police? And what do you mean no choice? You guys can use your favourite tool, the ISA to throw those guys in jail once you heard of their plan to rally in the Parliament. So now that you've shown that you will not use that draconian law (which only inconvenienced the politicians and their families), you have now decided to inconvenience all of us rakyat, and then blame it on the opposition?

The roadblocks proved to be “successful” although it caused inconvenience to many people, he told a press conference at his office yesterday, adding that 1,600 policemen were deployed for yesterday’s operation.

Thank you very much for the roadblock. i hope you enjoyed implementing it as much as i enjoyed going to work late on Monday morning.

It is learnt that PKR Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin and a few supporters tried to hold a gathering at Central Market at about 1.30pm. They left when asked to do so by police.

You see how co-operative the Opposition guys are? They only "tried" to have a gathering, and they dispersed when you asked them to. So, you could have done the same, wait for the guys to march towards the Parliament, then respectfully ask them to disperse, for which i'm sure they will. No need for the roadblocks, eh?

Like its not enough suffering for us poor citizens lah... Thanks a lot!!!

r0@dblock$!!!!

Okay, here i would like to vent out my frustrations after my 2 and a half hours on the road today. Yes i reached office late. Fre@king Late!!! i reached at about 10.15 am. Do you know how sucky it is to be on the road for such a long time when walking or even crawling seems faster? If i had not used the emergency lanes whenever possible i dont think i would have arrived at this time at all. i would have only arrived in 3 or even 4 hours later!! yes, so what if i broke the law just to get to office as soon as possible? Come arrest me lah!!!

Look, the road blocks have been there all weekend. In all major roads leading into KL. So thanks for ruining the weekend and Monday for the people who drive!!! Can some1 clarify with me the purpose of having such roadblocks being set up in the first place? First of all, the police ain't even doing any "pemeriksaan". They just narrow the road to 1 or 2 lanes then lets you drive off without even once looking into our cars. Look, if you plan to do and "pemeriksaan", at least look into my car lah goddammit!!! I demand to be "periksa-ed"!!! There are some roadblocks without any police there at all, they just place all the skittles to narrow the road. thanks guys.

God, it feels like we're in times of the Emergency (Darurat, for those who studied in Bahasa). Police setting up roadblocks (this time its worse, during those days, they actually checked if ppl were Communists). So yes, you wanna create fear in the minds of our citizens? get them to stay at home during weekends, reduce travelling? You (PM, Police, Home Minister, which ever soh@is that oversees this) might as well implement curfew so that we dont go out anywhere lah!!!

So come on man, give me a good reason for this roadblocks. Is it because u guys are afraid ppl will go and demonstrate in front of the Parliament today, due to the motion of No-confidence? Is it because we have a terrorist in our midts and you would like to capture him (highly unlikely, cause u guys dont even periksa in the 1st place.)?

PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF ALL PEOPLE WHO BRAVED THE JAMS TODAY, WHAT IS THE RESON FOR YOU SETTING UP THE F*CKING ROADBLOCKS?!?!!?!?

The new fad?

Well, last week, there was a diving expo in KL. I guess the market for diving now is getting bigger by the year. So much so that the number of visitors has grown by a huge amount. A lot of people are also beginning to take up diving licences (PADI or others so they can go diving in the open sea.

With a beautiful corals in several islands in Malaysia, there is no doubt why this country is a diving haven.

OK now, here's the subject of this post today. This is of course, entirely my view and opinion. I really wonder and suspect if the vast majority of the people taking up diving now are truly enthusiasts or just doing it because someone else has done it and its like the coolest thing to tell people. I know there are times when people go,"I just got back from my diving trip in X Island and it was great." Then every1 will be like "Whoa... thats so awesome!" shit like that lah. They will then go boast about how they got their licence or try to correct another person who, so happens to have a diving licence as well.

i mean if you are truly passionate about diving then i've got nothing against you. You probably (must) care about marine conservation and stuff like that. But those who just go diving for the sake of showing off will go like, oh yar... i've seen that fish before, in front of me.

Maybe its just me being sour grapes. Maybe its because i take up boring sports like golf, badminton and football, which every1 else does (well not golf). Can you imagine when i tell people i made par on the golf course, and people will be like what? Look i dont care about a boring game like golf. But when it comes to diving, people are like, whoa, its like watching Animal Planet in real life.

Of course i know its always better to see things in real life than on tv lah... but don't go get the damn licence just to show off. If u like to dive then you can dive without the licence also can, why do you need the licence. most of the places you go will also have a dive master to help you anyway (I'm probably being very ignorant now). Oh well, my point is that, don't go and blow that few thousand bucks just to get the licence to show off lah.

Damn, i feel grouchy this morning. Must be because of this damn flu which i had just caught yesterday. Now my nose is leaking like a faucet. Dammit! anyways, i think thats my rant for today. enjoy the weekend

Boody's Personal Financial Fitness Program (P.F.F.P)

Finances finances… With the price of everything going up, it’s hard for the lower class to survive and the middle class to stay afloat. Life is sucking for people that are employers as well as employees. Economic conditions aren’t getting any better, and so is the political atmosphere. I’ll try to steer clear of any political news in this post today. I’ll be focusing more on personal finance, a favourite subject of mine (after all, I am a Certified Financial Planner ;-p).

Well, for a financial planner, it sucks to say I don’t make enough money to support myself (but then again, even millionaires complain they don’t have enough money). Nobody will ever be satisfied with what they have. Most of the time, we always want more. So in this case its not about how much we earn, its how we use what we have (this of course is true if u make more than RM1,500 a month). If you earn less than that working full time, then I strongly believe you are below my poverty line.

The first thing I would always ask people is how many bank accounts does a person have? Most people have 1, at most 2. 2 is fine, but in my opinion, that is the minimum. I believe we should have 3 but if you can’t keep track of it then 2 is good enough. Why isn’t 1 account enough? Well, first of all this is probably the account which your employers will deposit your salary in. SO at the end of the month you will go to this bank account to withdraw and spend your money. And every time you don’t have enough money, you will go and withdraw till there’s no more. So what happens at the end of the month? You get the same syndrome as every1, which is “I’m broke by mid/end of the month” syndrome. And by broke I mean you really have no cash or other places where you stash your own cash. And there are thousands of people who live like this everyday for many years. Then one fine day, it hits them, WHAM!!! I don’t have savings in case of emergencies. Very uncool.

My first suggestion is to at least open 2 bank accounts. Now what do you do with that other account since you always complain got no money by mid or end month anyways. Well, ask yourself this,”How much am I wiling to save at the beginning when my salary is out?” Maybe for starters try RM100 or 200. If you save 200 a month and put it into that reserve bank account, you will have 2,400 bucks at the end of the year. And that is like 1 month’s salary for most young people. Once you have transferred that 200 into the other bank account, feel free to spend all the money in Account 1 as you have already saved first. At the end of the month, Account 1 maybe empty, but you can take heart that you still have some savings for a rainy day. Also, bear in mind you do not touch this sum of money unless you really need to. It is of no point if you continue to dip into this account cause you will then be no better off in the first place.

My 2nd advice is to track your expenditure daily if not every few days. Write is down on a 555 booklet or in your PC. I have mine in excel format, cause its easier for me to auto sum it and do various calculations with it when I do my review. This takes a lot of discipline, which I have to admit, I still lack. And what’s the point of doing this? Well the point is that we need to know where our money goes. I’m sure all of us have at least once wondered, hmm… I had 200 in my wallet/purse yesterday. I wonder how come its only 20 now? So that makes us wonder where did we spend our money on? If you continue to track your daily expenses, then you will be able to review it at the end of the month and see the things that we overspend on. Could be shopping, buying too much snacks and et cetera.

Once you have reviewed it, see how much you can reduce your expenses. Maybe start by reducing it by RM 50 a month or a week. If you save RM50 a month, then you would have the RM200 a month in the other bank account already. Or if u already have that RM200 aside, then save this other 200 again. Then you will have a savings of RM400 a month or 4800 yearly. Now, isn’t that a huge amount? In 4 or 5 years you have enough money for a down payment of a house or car or even both.

So if you follow my advice, you are already on your way to financial freedom (albeit a small step). It may not be much, but if you don’t start the engine, you are never gonna move. You will already solve the problem of “I don’t have enough money to spend, how to save?”. Get started as soon as possible!!!

Part 2 of Boody’s Personal Financial Fitness Program (P.F.F.P) will be out soon.

Lifehouse- Whatever it takes

Another great song by Lifehouse. The lyrics are heart felt, about a person wanting to have another chance, wanting commitment to making things better. Teaches a person how to love unconditionally. Enjoy the video.

Lyrics:-

A strangled smile fell from your face
It kills me that I hurt you this way
The worst part is that I didn't even know
Now there's a million reasons for you to go
But if you can find a reason to stay

I'll do whatever it takes
To turn this around
I know what's at stake
I know that I've let you down
And if you give me a chance
Believe that I can change
I'll keep us together whatever it takes

She said "If we're gonna make this work
You gotta let me inside even though it hurts
Don't hide the broken parts that I need to see"
She said "Like it or not it's the way it's gotta be
You gotta love yourself if you can ever love me"

I'll do whatever it takes
To turn this around
I know what's at stake
I know that I've let you down
And if you give me a chance
And give me a break
I'll keep us together, I know you deserve much better

But remember the time I told you the way that I felt
That I'd be lost without you and never find myself
Let's hold onto each other above everything else
Start over, start over

I'll do whatever it takes
To turn this around
I know what's at stake
I know I've let you down
And if you give me a chance
and believe that I can change
I'll keep us together whatever it takes

Temperature rising...

Oh my god... thats is all i can think of now after just reading the Statutory Declaration from abdul razak baginda's Private investigator.

here's the link
http://themalaysianinsider.com/index.php/malaysian-news/34-malaysian-news/1352-p-balasubramaniams-statutory-declaration

the article attached here, if u would like to read it. it gets really saucy towards the bottom

********************

JULY 3 — Below is the statutory declaration in full made by murder accused Abdul Razak Baginda's private investigator P. Balasubramaniam that claimed police suppressed evidence to protect some personalities, including proof that Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu knew Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
I, Balasubramaniam a/l Perumal (NRIC No: 600928-08-6235), a Malaysian Citizen of full age and residing at No. 32, Jalan Pelangi 1, Taman Pelangi, Rawang, Selangor, do solemly and sincerely declare as follows:
1. I have been a police officer with the Royal Malaysian Police Force having joined as a constable in 1981 attached to the Police Field Force. I was then promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal and finally resigned from the Police Force in 1998 when I was with the Special Branch.

2. I have been working as a freelance Private Investigator since I left the Police Force.

3. Some time in June or July 2006, I was employed by Abdul Razak Baginda for a period of 10 days to look after him at his office at the Bangunan Getah Asli, Jalan Ampang between the hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm each working day as apparently he was experiencing disturbances from a third party.

4. I resigned from this job after 2-1⁄2 days as I was not receiving any proper instructions.

5. I was however re-employed by Abdul Razak Baginda on the 05-10-2006 as he had apparently received a harassing phone call from a Chinese man calling himself ASP Tan who had threatened him to pay his debts. I later found out this gentleman was in fact a private investigator called Ang who was employed by a Mongolian woman called Altantuya Shaaribuu.

6. Abdul Razak Baginda was concerned that a person by the name of Altantuya Shaaribuu, a Mongolian woman, was behind this threat and that she would be arriving in Malaysia very soon to try and contact him.

7. Abdul Razak Baginda informed me that he was concerned by this as he had been advised that Altantuya Shaaribuu had been given some powers by a Mongolian “bomoh” and that he could never look her in the face because of this.

8. When I enquired as to who this Mongolian woman was, Abdul Razak Baginda informed me that she was a friend of his who had been introduced to him by a VIP and who asked him to look after her financially.

9. I advised him to lodge a police report concerning the threatening phone call he had received from the Chinese man known as ASP Tan but he refused to do so as he informed me there were some high profile people involved.

10. Abdul Razak Baginda further told me that Altantuya Shaaribuu was a great liar and good in convincing people. She was supposed to have been very demanding financially and that he had even financed a property for her in Mongolia.

11. Abdul Razak Baginda then let me listen to some voice messages on his handphone asking him to pay what was due otherwise he would be harmed and his daughter harassed.

12. I was therefore supposed to protect his daughter Rowena as well.

13. On the 09.10.2006 I received a phone call from Abdul Razak Baginda at about 9.30am informing me that Altantuya was in his office and he wanted me there immediately. As I was in the midst of a surveillance, I sent my assistant Suras to Abdul Razak Baginda’s office and I followed a little later. Suras managed to control the situation and had persuaded Altantuya and her two friends to leave the premises. However Altantuya left a note written on some Hotel Malaya note paper, in English, asking Abdul Razak Baginda to call her on her handphone (number given) and wrote down her room number as well.

14. Altantuya had introduced herself to Suras as “Aminah” and had informed Suras she was there to see her boyfriend Abdul Razak Baginda.

15. These 3 Mongolian girls however returned to Abdul Razak Baginda’s office at the Bangunan Getah Asli, Jalan Ampang again, the next day at about 12.00 noon. They did not enter the building but again informed Suras that they wanted to meet Aminah’s boyfriend, Abdul Razak Baginda.

16. On the 11.10.2006, Aminah returned to Abdul Razak Baginda’s office on her own and gave me a note to pass to him, which I did. Abdul Razak Baginda showed me the note which basically asked him to call her urgently.

17. I suggested to Abdul Razak Baginda that perhaps it may be wise to arrange for Aminah to be arrested if she harassed him further, but he declined as he felt she would have to return to Mongolia as soon as her cash ran out.

18. In the meantime I had arranged for Suras to perform surveillance on Hotel Malaya to monitor the movements of these 3 Mongolian girls, but they recognised him. Apparently they become friends with Suras after that and he ended up spending a few nights in their hotel room.
19. When Abdul Razak Baginda discovered Suras was becoming close to Aminah he asked me to pull him out from Hotel Malaya.

20. On the 14.10.2006, Aminah turned up at Abdul Razak Baginda’s house in Damansara Heights when I was not there. Abdul Razak Baginda called me on my handphone to inform me of this so I rushed back to his house. As I arrived, I noticed Aminah outside the front gates shouting “Razak, bastard, come out from the house”. I tried to calm her down but couldn’t so I called the police who arrived in 2 patrol cars. I explained the situation to the police, who took her away to the Brickfields police station.

21. I followed the patrol cars to Brickfields police station in a taxi. I called Abdul Razak Baginda and his lawyer Dirren to lodge a police report but they refused.

22. When I was at the Brickfields police station, Aminah’s own Private Investigator, one Mr Ang, arrived and we had a discussion. I was told to deliver a demand to Abdul Razak Baginda for US$500,000.00 and 3 tickets to Mongolia, apparently as commission owed to Aminah from a deal in Paris.

23. As Aminah had calmed down at this stage, a policewoman at the Brickfields police station advised me to leave and settle the matter amicably.

24. I duly informed Abdul Razak Baginda of the demands Aminah had made and told him I was disappointed that no one wanted to back me up in lodging a police report. We had a long discussion about the situation when I expressed a desire to pull out of this assignment.

25. During this discussion and in an attempt to persuade me to continue my employment with him, Abdul Razak Baginda informed me that:

25.1 He had been introduced to Aminah by Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at a diamond exhibition in Singapore.

25.2 Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak informed Abdul Razak Baginda that he had a sexual relationship with Aminah and that she was susceptible to anal intercourse.

25.3 Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak wanted Abdul Razak Baginda to look after Aminah as he did not want her to harass him since he was now the Deputy Prime Minister.

25.4 Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Abdul Razak Baginda and Aminah had all been together at a dinner in Paris.

25.5 Aminah wanted money from him as she felt she was entitled to a US$500,000.00 commission on a submarine deal she assisted with in Paris.

26. On the 19.10.2006, I arrived at Abdul Razak Baginda’s house in Damansara Heights to begin my night duty. I had parked my car outside as usual. I saw a yellow Proton Perdana taxi pass by with 3 ladies inside, one of whom was Aminah. The taxi did a U-turn and stopped in front of the house where these ladies rolled down the window and wished me “Happy Deepavali”. The taxi then left.

27. About 20 minutes later the taxi returned with only Aminah in it. She got out of the taxi and walked towards me and started talking to me. I sent an SMS to Abdul Razak Baginda informing him “Aminah was here”. I received an SMS from Razak instructing me “to delay her until my man comes”.

28. Whist I was talking to Aminah, she informed me of the following:

28.1 That she met Abdul Razak Baginda in Singapore with Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

28.2 That she had also met Abdul Razak Baginda and Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at a dinner in Paris.

28.3 That she was promised a sum of US$500,000.00 as commission for assisting in a submarine deal in Paris.

28.4 That Abdul Razak Baginda had bought her a house in Mongolia but her brother had refinanced it and she needed money to redeem it.

28.5 That her mother was ill and she needed money to pay for her treatment.

28.6. That Abdul Razak Baginda had married her in Korea as her mother is Korean whilst her father was a Mongolian/Chinese mix.

28.7 That if I wouldn’t allow her to see Abdul Razak Baginda, would I be able to arrange for her to see Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

29. After talking to Aminah for about 15 minutes, a red Proton Aeroback arrived with a woman and two men. I now know the woman to be Lance Corporal Rohaniza and the men, Azilah Hadri and Sirul Azahar. They were all in plainclothes. Azilah walked towards me while the other two stayed in the car.

30. Azilah asked me whether the woman was Aminah and I said “Yes”. He then walked off and made a few calls on his handphone. After 10 minutes another vehicle, a blue Proton Saga, driven by a Malay man, passed by slowly. The driver’s window had been wound down and the driver was looking at us.

31. Azilah then informed me they would be taking Aminah away. I informed Aminah they were arresting her. The other two persons then got out of the red Proton and exchanged seats so that Lance Corporal Rohaniza and Aminah were in the back while the two men were in the front. They drove off and that is the last I ever saw of Aminah.
32. Abdul Razak Baginda was not at home when all this occurred.
33. After the 19.10.2006, I continued to work for Abdul Razak Baginda at his house in Damansara Heights from 7.00pm to 8.00am the next morning, as he had been receiving threatening text messages from a woman called “Amy” who was apparently “Aminah’s” cousin in Mongolia.

34. On the night of the 20.10.2006, both of Aminah’s girlfriends turned up at Abdul Razak Baginda’s house enquiring where Aminah was. I informed them she had been arrested the night before.

35. A couple of nights later, these two Mongolian girls, Mr Ang and another Mongolian girl called “Amy” turned up at Abdul Razak Baginda’s house looking for Aminah as they appeared to be convinced she was being held in the house.

36. A commotion began so I called the police who arrived shortly thereafter in a patrol car. Another patrol car arrived a short while later in which was the investigating officer from the Dang Wangi Police Station who was in charge of the missing persons report lodged by one of the Mongolians girls, I believe was Amy.

37. I called Abdul Razak Baginda who was at home to inform him of the events taking place at his front gate. He then called DSP Musa Safri and called me back informing me that Musa Safri would be calling my handphone and I was to pass the phone to the inspector from the Dang Wangi Police Station.

38. I then received a call on my handphone from Musa Safri and duly handed the phone to the Dang Wangi inspector. The conversation lasted 3-4 minutes after which he told the girls to disperse and to go to see him the next day.

39. On or about the 24.10.2006, Abdul Razak Baginda instructed me to accompany him to the Brickfields police station as he had been advised to lodge a police report about the harassment he was receiving from these Mongolian girls.

40. Before this, Amy had sent me an SMS informing me she was going to Thailand to lodge a report with the Mongolian consulate there regarding Aminah’s disappearance. Apparently she had sent the same SMS to Abdul Razak Baginda. This is why he told me he had been advised to lodge a police report.

41. Abdul Razak Baginda informed me that DPS Musa Safri had introduced him to one DSP Idris, the head of the Criminal division, Brickfields police station, and that Idris had referred him to ASP Tonny.

42. When Abdul Razak Baginda had lodged his police report at Brickfields police station, in front of ASP Tonny, he was asked to make a statement but he refused as he said he was leaving for overseas. He did however promise to prepare a statement and hand ASP Tonny a thumb drive. I know that this was not done as ASP Tonny told me.

43. However ASP Tonny asked me the next day to provide my statement instead and so I did.

44. I stopped working for Abdul Razak Baginda on the 26.10.2006 as this was the day he left for Hong Kong on his own.

45. In mid-November 2006, I received a phone call from ASP Tonny from the IPK Jalan Hang Tuah asking me to see him regarding Aminah’s case. When I arrived there I was immediately arrested under S.506 of the Penal Code for Criminal intimidation.

46. I was then placed in the lock-up and remanded for 5 days. On the third day I was released on police bail.

47. At the end of November 2006, the D9 department of the IPK sent a detective to my house to escort me to the IPK Jalan Hang Tuah. When I arrived, I was told I was being arrested under S.302 of the Penal Code for murder. I was put in the lock-up and remanded for 7 days.

48. I was transported to Bukit Aman where I was interrogated and questioned about an SMS I had received from Abdul Razak Baginda on the 19.10.2006 which read “delay her until my man arrives”. They had apparently retrieved this message from Abdul Razak Baginda’s handphone.

49. They then proceeded to record my statement from 8.30am to 6.00pm every day for 7 consecutive days. I told them all I knew including everything Abdul Razak Baginda and Aminah had told me about their relationships with Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak but when I came to sign my statement, these details had been left out.

50. I have given evidence in the trial of Azilah, Sirul and Abdul Razak Baginda at the Shah Alam High Court. The prosecutor did not ask me any questions in respect of Aminah’s relationship with Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak or of the phone call I received from DSP Musa Safri, whom I believe was the ADC for Datuk Seri Najib Razak and/or his wife.

51. On the day Abdul Razak Baginda was arrested, I was with him at his lawyers’ office at 6.30am. Abdul Razak Baginda informed us that he had sent Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak an SMS the evening before as he refused to believe he was to be arrested, but had not received a response.

52. Shortly thereafter, at about 7.30am, Abdul Razak Baginda received an SMS from Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and showed this message to both myself and his lawyer. This message read as follows: “ I am seeing IGP at 11.00am today … matter will be solved … be cool.”

53. I have been made to understand that Abdul Razak Baginda was arrested the same morning at his office in the Bangunan Getah Asli, Jalan Ampang.

54. The purpose of this Statutory declaration is to:

54.1 State my disappointment at the standard of investigations conducted by the authorities into the circumstances surrounding the murder of Altantuya Shaaribuu.

54.2 Bring to the notice of the relevant authorities the strong possibility that there are individuals other than the 3 accused who must have played a role in the murder of Altantuya Shaaribuu.

54.3 Persuade the relevant authorities to reopen their investigations into this case immediately so that any fresh evidence may be presented to the Court prior to submissions at the end of the prosecutions case.

54.4 Emphasise the fact that having been a member of the Royal Malaysian Police Force for 17 years I am absolutely certain no police officer would shoot someone in the head and blow up their body without receiving specific instructions from their superiors first.

54.5. Express my concern that should the defence not be called in the said murder trial, the accused, Azilah and Sirul will not have to swear on oath and testify as to the instructions they received and from whom they were given.

55. And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same be true and by virtue of the provisions of the Statutory Declaration Act 1960.

SUBSCRIBED and solemnly declared by the abovenamed

Now i'm not sure how true this SD is, but the thing i'm sure is that our DPM's name has now been smeared even more. Looks like Anwar and Najib's name are all getting smeared. Oh well, i think life's gonna be tough for both of them in the near future.

Boodyboy, out!!!

Does sound sleep comes with a dream?

This is weird cause there are times when i decide to turn in early, 11pm so that i can have at least a 7 hours sleep. And its these times that i have weird dreams...

Yesterday night was another one. Decided to sleep early since the quarter final match between federer and ancic was delayed by rain. In this dream i dreamt i was rushing off to somewhere in the morning. Then i realised i left something in my office and hence i had to leave my house extra early to go to the office 1st. i reached the office at 6.30am. Styrangely, my office has now become a shoplot. And like most shoplots they have that metal shutter thing which they use to lock up the place evry night. So at 6.30 am, the shutters were only open halfway, so i had to duck to get in.

In the office, all the expat colleagues were already in there, seemingly busy with work. Me on the other hand, wandered around looking for my place. The office inside this shoplot is huge! well anyways, after wandering around for like 15 minutes i found the elevator to which i pushed the button to go down. Yes i worked 18 floors underground in this dream. the elevator stopped at the 5 or 6 floor underground when the door opened.

i stepped out and i was in a super huge cafeteria. it was the size of a warehouse or supermarket. so there i was wandering again, looking for my spot. then is aw this door, which i entered. This led me to a super duper huge toilet. there were rows and rows of toilets and showers. as i tried to walk to the end of this toilet, i noticed that the toilet lighting was quite dim. Then i could hear the sounds of the shower and it suddenly stopped. Then i can hear one of the doors creaking when its being slowly opened. Scared shit, i ran to the end of the toilet and realised theres no exit on that end. i ran around the toilet toget back to the door where i came in thru. The door was actually just the size of a toilet stall door. i opened the door and there i was, in the cafeteria again.

I walked around somemore and then bumped into my colleague who had just finished her meal. she suggested we go to the office together. So we walked to the elevator again and headed downwards. This time around the lift stopped at the 13th floor, 5 floors above my intended destination. the door opened and we both stepped out.

We were another huge toilet again. The lights were dim and flickering. Scared shit, again we waled aroiund looking for an exit. and again we heard the toilet water running then the sounds of someone turning off the tap. then the door creaked open, freaked out (again) we ran to the end of the toilet, and this time around, at the end of the toilet is this corridor, much like those we see in hotels. There we met a guy, who's dressed like he works in a hotel and we asked him for directions. He directed us to the elevator again and left. We walked towards the elevator and i pressed the down button again.

Then my phone rang. It was my alarm and i woke up. Now this seriously got me wondering. what the hell is going on in my mind when i sleep?!?!! I should be sleeping soundly but instead, i get shit freaky dreams. I know the huge toilet could probably mean that i'm yearning to join a gym (i've been looking around lately) but the office underground?

oh well, woke up with a stiff neck and now i cant hold my head up straight. sigh...

lack of discipline...again

Yeah, my bad.Its been 3 weeks since my last post and i'm guilty for not updating it when i was free.
Been working in this new company lately and i'm glad to say i'm getting busier. But the only downside is that i take more time to do what my other colleagues do. I might take 4 to 5 times longer to do the same thing. well, i just hope to pick things up at a faster rate as i go on.

well, these past few weeks has seen very big events in our political scene. I read the papers and online news and blogs with my tongue wagging. the stuff you read here would make a very good soap opera. yes, its heating up so fast we are bound to reach boiling point before September 16th, the day Anwar believes there will be a change in government.

Sorry, but its gonna be a short 1 this time aroudn but i promise my next post will not be 3 weeks from today...
