The Gym. Its a place i've been missing from for more than half a year now. Obviously chubbier then before (even a lot of my friends have mentioned it), i didnt even have time to go for my regular badminton sessions. So in terms of stamina and fitness, its all gone down the drain. But not for any longer!!
After searching high and low, i have finally found the place which suits my budget. And that place is... Not Fitness First, Not California Fitness, Not mYoga, Not True Fitness, Not Celebrity Fitness, obviously not Gold's Gym (since that was my previous gym). You must be thinking i joined a small gym, but its not. This place has like more than 10 locations in Malaysia and in several countries as well. Give up? Its,
CLARK HATCH! Hehehe... some ppl might say wah... so high class. Wellt hats how they use to brand themselves. And since they dont aggressively promote themselves, a lot of ppl nowadays may not have even heard of them.
So where is the 1 which i'll be going to often? there's actually 1 near my office. its at Hilton PJ. although the biggest factor for me was price (about 20% cheaper), it is also open 24hours a day. And they even give you towels (unlike certain places) and even clothing so you dont even have to bring your workout attire! And the good thing is that there isn;t any contract so you can elave anytime without penalty.
So yes, i can't wait to step back into gym and improve on my fitness levels. Rowing machine, here i come!!!

Jaya One Eateries Review : Sun Wong
Another week, another eatery. This time around, we have decided to try Sun Wong, a Hong Kong style restaurant. What they serve is usually what you see in Kim Gary or Wong Kok.
The restaurant is located atg the back of Jaya One, near the parking entrance facing UTAR. If you are entering from the main road you would miss the restaurant. After passing by the place countless time going to the carpark, we decided to give this place a shot. When we entered the restaurant, there were only like 3 other tables being served. Didn't bode too well...
The staff are friendly and eager to help. The ambience? Typical Hong Kong style eatery lor... Nothing fantastic, and quite simple.
When we looked at the menu, we were surprised at the prices they charged. Its cheaper and Kim Gary, Wong Kok, et al. We ordered the fried rice, honey pork rib rice, thick toast with peanut butter, boxing chicken. For drinks, we ordered, the sea coconut with longan and shaved ice and the iced milk tea.
The food arrived pretty fast (since there weren't many customers anyway). The head waitress/manager was pretty friendly, checking on us to see if the food and service was good.
The food is good. Fried rice is better than a lot of places i've tried (but if you hate mixed vegetables, you should avoid this). The pork rib rice was also nice, not too sweet and the portions just nice. The boxing chicken is good, but not great, missing some seasoning for that extra little flavour or shall i say "kick". The toast was huge, but unfortunately, i ate it a bit too late (stupid me for eating it last), and as such, the taost had already cooled down and it became very stiff and hard to chew. And with the generous amounts of peanut butter, my jaws had to work overtime to chew it.
The tea was "kau" enough for me. as for the seacoconut drink, if you dont like it with lemon, you might not enjoy it as much as some ppl will argue that the lemon will overpower the sea coconut taste in the drink.
Overall, i think this is the place with the best food so far. Shame on the rest for having such nice decor but poor food.
Ambience: 6/10
Taste: 7.5/10
Service 7/ 10.

Better in time- Leona Lewis
Damn nice song... hehehe Enjoy!!!
LYRICS:-
It's been the longest winter without you
I didn't know where to turn to
See somehow I can't forget you
After all that we've been through
Going coming thought I heard a knock
Who's there no one
Thinking that I deserve it
Now I realise that I really didn't know
If you didn't notice you mean everything
Quickly I'm learning to love again
All I know is I'ma be ok
[Chorus:]
Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals too
It'll all get better in time
And even though I really love you
I'm gonna smile cause I deserve to
It'll all get better in time
I couldn't turn on the TV
Without something there to remind me
Was it all that easy
To just put aside your feelings
If I'm dreaming don't wanna laugh
Hurt my feelings but that's the path
I believe in
And I know that time will heal it
If you didn't notice boy you meant everything
Quickly I'm learning to love again
All I know is I'ma be ok
[Chorus:]
Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals too
It'll all get better in time
And even though I really love you
I'm gonna smile cause I deserve to
It'll all get better in time
Since there's no more you and me
It's time I let you go
So I can be free
And live my life how it should be
No matter how hard it is I'll be fine without you
Yes I will
[Chorus: x2]
Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals too
It'll all get better in time
And even though I really love you
I'm gonna smile cause I deserve to

Jaya One Eateries Review: Tappers Cafe
I refused to believe that 2 out of 2 bad eateries means that Jaya One is full of bad places to eat. So i was there again yesterday and this time, we tried the place of my choice (the first 2 weren't my choices but i didn't disagree either).
Tappers is situated in between Santinis and Kluang Station Kopitiam (i think its kluang station lah).
Tappers is also modelled after some of those kopitiams like kluang station, Old Town and etc. They serve mainly local dishes and some hainanese fare like the hainanese chicken chop. We ordered the hainanese chicken chop, nasi dagang ayam, french toast with honey, bandung sirap (known as goo lee ping here) and iced "cham" (coffee and tea).
The drinks here are nice and damned kao. but if you dont like drinks that are a tad on the sweet side, then its not recommended. We ordered 2 glasses of bandung sirap, hehehe... The cham was good also.
Now for the food, if you like french toast, i'm sure wou will like the french toast here. It is evenly fried and the colour is perfect. Then when eaten with honey, it tastes so good...(already drooling thinking aout it now...). The hainanese chicken chop was passable, though the batter on the fried chiken not as crispy as i had hoped. The sauce was decent, but different from the ones i've tasted. This one is a bit sweet sourish, liked cooked with tomato sauce. Servings is small for a guy like me who can eat lah... It wont stuff you, and it wont make you hungry either. As for the nasi dagang, the rice was nice, but some pars of it tasted like it wasn't cooked with enough water (could be due to it being the top layer when being scooped from the rice cooker). The chicken was also decent only lah, not good enough for my standards.
However, if we talk about value for money, this is the cheapest meal we had in Jaya One so far... all the above for RM 25 only. Not too expensive. And yes we finally didn't have to go Nando's for a 2nd round of dinner, unlike the previous 2 times...

Tiring weekend
Friday night was the 2nd time in a week i visited Deli-cious cafe in Bangsar Village 2. Well all i can say is that i'm guaranteed of a good time everytime i've been there. Friday was no exception.
It was supposed to be celebrating my ex colleagues farewell, but since there weren't many ppl who were free that evening there were only 5 of us. And in the end it turned out that 30 of the ppl there are ex colleagues while only 2 more are still there.
Despite the horrendous jam on Friday, we managed to reach the place at 7.30pm, just on time as i reserved a spot for that time as well. I asked for a corner table at the back end of the restaurant. Its a great spot as it is not as noisy as if u were sitting in the middle of a packed restaurant.
We feasted like pigs that night. Garlic potatoes, brushcetta, caeser's salad, 5 main courses and dessert. We sat chatted and joked about the things that has been happening during recent times. A joke came up:
A reporter decided to write an article about the red indian tribe, so he travelled deep into uncharted territory just to find the tribe. Once he reached there, he started looking for people to interview. There he saw a man wearing a head gear with a feather on top. So he decided to talk to him.
Reporter: Hey there, may i know why you are wearing a headdress with a feather?
Small chief: Me small chief. One feather, fcuk 1 woman.
Reporter: Oh i see....
Moving on, he next saw a person wearing a bigger headgear with more feathers.
Reporter: May i know what is your position in the tribe?
Medium Chief: Me medium chief. Got 10 feathers, fcuk 10 women.
Reporter: Oh ok.... (getting freaked out)
And then finally he saw a man sitting on a chair, with a big @$$ headress with feathers all the way down to the floor. So he decided to walk up to that guy and asked
Reporter: So you have the biggest headdress here, you must be the chief.
Chief: yes, me chief of tribe. A lot of feathers, everything fcuk. Tree fcuk, stone fcuk and etc...
Reporter (shocked): That's hostile!
Chief: yes, horse style, dog style cow style all also i do.
Reporter: Oh, dear...
Chief: Deer? No deer, hole too high, run too fast!
ROTFL LOL OMWTFBBQ!!
Great joke to end the night. we said our goodbye and parted ways, promising to meet up where ever possible.
spent saturday rushing to do my laundry as i had to go visit my grandma in Pahang in the afternoon. it was a tiring 3 hour drive and i was exhausted for the day. Sunday we headed back to kl after breakfast. After we reached home in the afternoon, i immediately headed to KLCC as i met up with my friend there for the PC fair. On sundays, the crowd is the worst as the biggest bargain were held on sundays. After pushing and wading my way around the crowd, i came out with a new wireless router and a 4gb pendrive. 1st weekend of the month and i'm already broke. Sent my friend back to klang before driving back home to yumcha with a friend who said that its been a long time since we went out.
By the time i hit the sack las night, i was deadbeat... i wish it was still friday night....

movie review: The Mummy 3
Caught this movie yesterday with my sister. my sister said she loved that it was funny. I think it really sucked except for the few moments of laughter and madness.
THis is again, like the X-files. the writers are just trying to squeeze as much money from this franchise as possible. The storyline is poor. I mean the previous 2 storylines also weren't that great but at least the adventures and the characters gripped us. This time again, there is just a lame story just to get brendan fraser into mummy hunting action.
Some of the CGI looked a bit fake. Jet Li sucked in this show. How can a man, whom i have grown up watching him kick 20-30 ppl's butt at the same time lose to Brendan Fraser in a straight fight? Thats just ridiculous.
I totally agreed with the review written by the malay mail. Its just not good enough compared to whats been dished out this summer. 2nd worst movie i've seen this year.
Rating: 4/10 (slightly better than X-Files)

Movie review: The X Files: I want to believe
Caught this movie last week. My advice is, worst RM40 i ever spent on a movie (2 premier class tickets mar...) this year. The writers must have lost their plot. Storyline is pretty bad (don't wanna spoil it for those who have not caught it.) But my advice is don't even watch it. You will definitely come out cursing because our expectations of this movie is pretty high. Even for a standalone movie, it sucks big time. Ye si know there are still people whoa re stubborn, they want to see how bad this film is. Be my guest... I think the title is quite suitable for this movie. I (as a fan, really) want to believe (that this movie is great). But it's not. Its like they are trying to squeeze the remaining milk out of this old cash cow.
My rating 2/10.
My rating 2/10.
Jaya One Eateries Review: Kinnaree
Oh, one thing i forgot to mention about Jaya One, the whole place had Wifi!!! cool!!! so rest assured you can eat any outlet and still be connected.
Ok i went to this place called Kinnaree on Tuesday. Kinnaree is a thai restaurant which serves, duh, thai food lah. This is their first branch here in Malaysia. The are actually quite famous in Thailand, so famous that they were in Thailand's "Tatler's Guide to Restaurants in Thailand". Yup, you you are listed in tatler's food guide, then the restaurant has to be high class and of course the taste has to be there as well.
So how does the Malaysian branch fare?
When we walked in the place, the place was well decorated. however, a little gripe here. They used many(when i mean many, i mean a lot) candles in the restaurant, but yet they still turned on all the lights in side the restaurant, which negated the nice soft glows of the candles. I like their lotus leaf motif-ed plate.
We order tomyam of course, and then kangkung belacan, soft-shell crab cooked in spicy balck sauce and green curry chicken. The tom yam, i rate 5/10. Just passable. The 1 person "seafood" tomyam had only 1 prawn, some mushrooms and thats it. Tomyam not really that delicious although got some "kick" lah. I've had better tomyam before, definitely. The softshell crab, i rate about 6/10 cause it was too salty. Kangkung belacan, i rate 5/10 because they really overcooked the kangkung. It was all soft and limp. Plus the taste wasn't that fragrant anyway. The green curry, 4/10. Yes, its bad, so bad, i give it a "fail" since it was not even green in colour. Hahaha... But seriously, the green curry had no kick to it. Generous which the chicken but it didnt save the dish. Was very watery and the gravy not tasty. As for the dessert, we ordered the "Tub Tim krob" which is the red rubies with coconut milk. That wan i also give 5/10 although i'm tempted to fail this dish as well. The only saving grace was that they gave lots of rubies and it was full of chestnut inside rather that flour. Ok the best thing i had there was the lemongrass drink. Serve chilled, it is poured into a wine glass and has the colour of white wine. The lemongrass is not too overpowering and not too sweet either. And its refillable as well.
Service was prompt, efficient and friendly.
OVerall i give it the Death Sentence (DS) again. Looks like it was the interior designer who cooked here as well. If you want a classy high end thai restaurant, go to "To Dine For" in Chulan square instead. Better and abouit same price. This place is definitely not cheap. The total bill came to about RM120.

Jaya One Eateries Review: Brisik
YEs, this is the first installment of my food review. I'll be reviewing a quaint little place called Brisik, which is located at the spanking new Jaya One. For those who don't know where Jaya One is, its located near UTAR PJ in section 13, near the Rothmans roundabout. There are many eateries there and the 1st time i went there, i was spoilt for choice.
So after walking a round a couple of times, we decided to eat at this place called Brisik. Its entrance is at the ground floor but the restaurant space is located upstairs. The place looks really nice and cosy, well decorated.
Food wise, we ordered like 4 dishes and all 4 also turned out not nice. Sorry if i cant remember what the dishes were because ia ctually went there last month. But i ordered whatever that was recommended by the staff there.
The price itself is not expensive for a classy looking spot, but the portions are not big either.
I like the ambience but after trying the food there, i've given it a Death Sentence (DS). What this means is that it is highly unlikely i'll be going back to that place restaurant ever again.
The place looks like it was verhy well designed by the interior desinger, but unfortunately, the food seems to have been cooked by the interior designer.
